Antonina Versenina

Sopran

Young soprano Antonina Vesenina graduated as a vocalist from Voronezh State Academy of Arts. At the opera studio she performed the role of Marfa in The Tsar’s Bride. She took part in master classes with Elena Obraztsova, Gegam Grigoryan and Larissa Gergieva.

In 2018/19 she sang Queen of the Night in Semperoper Dresden and Staatsoper Hamburg.

Performances at the Mariinsky Theatre: Queen of Shemakha in The Golden Cockerel, Gilda in Rigoletto, Maria Mironova in The Captain’s Daughter (concert), Mademoiselle Silberklang in Der Schauspieldirektor, Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Clorinda in La Cenerentola (concert) and Countess Olga Sukarev in Fedora (concert).

In the season of 2017/18 Ms Vesenina reprised the role Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte at Deutsche Oper am Rhein.

In 2016/17 she sang Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte (Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Komische Oper Berlin, Mariinsky Theatre) and the premiere of The Golden Cockerel (Queen of Shemakha) at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. Her other performances at the Mariinsky that season include Clorinda in La Cenerentola, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia and Queen of Shemakha in The Golden Cockerel.

In 2011 she became the soloist of the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers. On the stage of Mariinsky theatre has performed such parts as Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte (2014) and Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia (2014/premiere), Queen of Shemakha in Golden Cockerel (2015/premiere) and Clorinda in Cinderella (2015), as well as in concerts by the Academy on tour in Russia, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, France, Austria.

In the season 2010/2011 Antonina Vesenina joined the theatre «St. Petersburg Opera» where she performed the roles of Gilda in Rigoletto, Genovieffa in Suor Angelica and Lucia in Benjamin Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia in addition to performing in concerts.

Her repertoire also comprises Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos, Olympia in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Oscar in Un ballo in maschera, Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, Swan-Bird in The Tale of Tsar Saltan, and arias and romances by Russian and European composers.

Antonina Vesenina is the laureate of XV Chaikovsky competition (2015) and several national and international competitions.
