After completing his studies at the Sibelius academy in Helsinki 1997 Petri Lindroos has occurred at many opera houses in the major European cities such as Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo, Brussels, Luxembourg, Paris, London, Munich, Milan, Rome etc.
His role repertoire includes such as King Filip (Don Carlo, Verdi), Fiesco (Simone Boccanegra, Verdi), Zaccharia (Il Nabucco, Verdi), Mefisto (Mefisto, Boito), Mefistophéles (Faust, Gounod AND La Damnation du Faust, Berloiz), Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte, Mozart),
Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro, Mozart), Commendatore and Leporello (Don Giovanni, Mozart), Gremin (Onegin, Tsaikovskij) a few to mention. He is also a very sought interpreter of the big passions and masses throughout whole Europe.
His recent successes included his interpretation of Pimen in Boris Godunov at the Finnish National Opera stage and his appearing as Leporello with the La Monnaie-tour in Tokyo and series of Verdis Requiem (Westminster Cathedral, Verdi Festival in Parma, (Riccardo Muti)) and a tour with the Bawarian Radio-orchestra doing Messe Solennelle by Berlioz under the baton of Maestro Riccardo Muti. Furthermore You can mention an observed debut as the Commendatore in the Don Giovanni-production at the Festival de Radio France in Montpellier and Sarastro at the Opera Berlioz also in Montpellier. In fall 2008 he made his debut at the La Scala opera in Milan as King Fhilip and the Monk in Don Carlo conducted by maestro Daniele Gatti and he sang Sarastro at the Chatelet opera (Paris). Furthermore he sang at the La Scala Tannhäuser-production with maestro Mehta as conductor and he appeared as King Marke in Wagners Tristan und Isolde with the Danish National Opera in 2012 with great success. Furthermore in 2013 he interpreted the role of Banco in Macbeth (Verdi) at Teatro Lirico in Cagliari and Daland in Der Fliegende Holländer at Hessiches Staatstheater Wiesbaden. He also appeared as soloist in Verdi Requiem with Teatro San Carlo, (Naples).
In 2014 and 2015 Mr Lindroos has appeared with maestro Kent Nagano in Gotheburg (GSO) in Beethovens Missa Solemnis, in Montreal (Canada) as Hunding in Wagners Walkürie and in Staatsoper Hamburg as Narbal in Les Troyens. He also appeared in the monumental role of Jeronimus in C. Nielsens opera Maskarade at the Royal Theater in Copenhagen and as Gremin (Onegin) at Copenhagen Opera Festival.
In 2016 Lindroos appeared at the New Israeli opera (Tel Aviv) as Frere Laurent in Ch. Gourds opera Romeo & Juliette and sung with GSO (Gothenborg Symphony orchestra) in the rare happening of A. Schœnbergs Gurrelieder under the baton of Kent Nagano. Furthermore he appeared at Savonlinna opera festival as Ludovico in Verdis Otello. He also made his debut as Osmin (Die Entführing as dem Serail, Mozart) at Savonlinna Opera festival in the summer 2017 with outstanding reviews.

In the season 2017-2018 Mr Lindroos appeared in Copenhagen as Sarastro (Magic Flute, Mozart). In the part of ”Bauer” in Schönbergs Gurrelieder at Aarhus and Aalborgs symphony orchestras. He also sang in Beethovens 9th symphony in Montreal (Canada) under the baton of maestro Kent Nagano. Furthermore he interpreted the role of Mefistopheles in Gounod’s Faust at the Savonlinna Opera festival (Finland).

In the season of 2018/19 he sang Simone (Gianni Schicchi) at Den Norske Opera Oslo, Ramfis in Aida at Opera North, Entführung aus dem Serail – Osmin (Savonlinna),
Fidelio – Rocco at Teatro Communale in Bologna.
Before the Pandemic he sang in Opera North Ramfis in Aida and in Prag Rocco in Fidelio. In May 2021 he was supposed to sing Marcel in Les Hugenots in Budapest, however this was cancelled due to Covid.

In 2022 he will sing Hjertet in Manualen & De syv dødssynder at the Royal Danish Opera, Daland in Der Fliegende Holländer at Opera Østfold as well as the basso part in the Verdi Requiem and Ferrando in Il Trovatore at New Zealand Opera.
