BIOGRAPHY

Askar Abdrazakov was born in Ufa and got his music education in conservatory of Ufa.Then in Moscow A.Abdrazakov learnt with the famous Irina Arkhipova in conservatory .
When a student the started to actively and successfully take part in various Contests.



PRIZES

Askar Abdrazakov has been awarded numerous prizes , including :
- the Glinka Competition in 1991,
- the First Prize in Pretoria international sings competition in 1994,
- the First Prize in the prestigious Chaliapin Bass Competition in Kazan in 1994,
Grand Prix in the Callas Competition in Athens in 1995,
- the First Prize in the international Rakhmaninov Competition in 1998

He sang on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre (as Prince Gremin in “Eugene Onegin” by P.Tchaikovsky; Kontchack in “Prince Igor” by A.Borodin; as Tzar Boris in “Boris Godunov” by M.Mussorgsky) and on the stage of the Mariinsky Theatre (as Ruslan in “Ruslan and Lyudmila”, as Kotchubej in “Mazepa” by P.Tchaickovsky,

In Paris at the Chatelet A.Abdrazakov performed “Le Rossignol” (by I Stravinsky, with the BBC Symphony orchestra, conducted by P.Boulez) and the performance was revewed in the biggest cities of Europe: Brussels, London, Rome, Seville, Berlin.
Arena di Verona - as Ramfis in “Aida”, as Zaccaria in “Nabucco”, with Leo Nucci; The Metropolitan Opera “Ruslan and Lyudmila”, “Mazepa”, “Prince Igor. La Scala - as Kotchubej in “Mazepa” (by P.Tchaikovsky, orchestra conducting by M.Rostropovitch) . Later on A.Abdrazakov performed the parts of: Attila in “Attila” G.Verdi ( Berlin and Triest); Ramfis in “Aida”(G.Verdy, ); Filippo II and Grand Inquisitor in “Don Carlos” (with famous N.Ghiaurov, Bologna, Parma,Tokyo); Raimondo in “Lucia de Lammermoor” G.Donizetti and Count Walter in “Luise Miller” G.Verdi in Barcelona, Mefistofele in "Mefistofele" by Boito ( Torino, Palermo, Frankfurt ), Mefistofele in "Faust" by Gounoud, Don Giovanni and Leporello in "Don Diovanni" by A.Mozart in Washington with Placido Domingo, Fiesco in "Simon Boccanegra" by Verdi with C.Abbado, Banco in "Macbeth' by Verdi in Florence.

He also sings concerts and oratorios, like the “Requiem” ( G.Verdi, performed in Italy, South Africa, Russia, Australia). Russian romances (by A.Borodin, S.Rakhmaninov, P.Tchaikovsky) that the singer includes in chamber programmes, one of which was performed at “Carnegia Hall” in New-York .In Colmar, France, at the festival in honour of the outstanding russian singer F.Shalyapin, A.Abdrazakov (and “Moscow Virtuosi” orchestra conducted by A.Spivakov)
