Biographie / biography
Vadim Kravets was born in Saint- Petersburg.
He graduated from the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire.
Mr Kravets became soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers and joined the Mariinsky Opera Company in 2007.
Since 2014-2015 soloist at the Staatstheater Darmstadt.
In 2017 he sang Jochanaan in Salome, Gunther in Götterdämmerung and Fasolt in Das Rheingold at the Mariinsky Theatre. At the Mariinsky Theatre he also took the title role in Le Nozze di Figaro.
In 2016 his roles at the Staatstheater Darmstadt included Sparafucile in Rigoletto, Priest/Badger in The Cunning Little Vixen, Ein Eremit in Der Freischütz and Don Basilio in Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
In 2015 he appeared as Ein Eremit in Der Freischütz, Pimen in Boris Godunov, Colline in La Bohème and Banco in Macbeth on stage of the Staatstheater Darmstadt.
In 2014/15 he sang the role of Banco at the Staatstheater Darmstadt and the title role in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Mariinsky Theatre.
Mr Kravets performed at Metropolitan Opera, Covent Garden, and the Bastille Opera.
One of the main foci of his career, also based on his personal interest, lies on the dramatic parts in Wagner’s operas. He already appeared as Amfortas in Parsifal, The Wanderer in Siegfried and Der Holländer in Der Fliegende Holländer on various Russian stages

Prize-winner at the International Elena Obraztsova Competition (St Petersburg, 2005).
Prize-winner at the VI International Rimsky-Korsakov Young Opera Singers' Competition (1st prize, St Petersburg, 2004).
Prize-winner at the International Lisitsian Competition (1st prize, Vladikavkaz, 2003).
