Laimonas Pautienius was born in 1973, May 3 in Var?na district, Merkin? town (Lithuania). In 1980 he entered and in 1987 finished children’s music school (piano class) in Var?na.
In 1991, after finishing secondary school, Laimonas Pautienius entered Lithuanian Music Academy (LMA), two-year preparatory courses, where he was taught the art of singing by famous Lithuanian opera singer prof. V. Noreika. In 1997 he got his Bachelor degree and started his studies for Master’s degree at prof. V. Noreika’s singing class.
In 1997 Laimonas Pautienius made his debut in G. Puccini’s opera “Tosca” in the role of Spoleta in the National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Lithuania. At present Laimonas Pautienius sings in the following operas, staged in this theatre: G. Puccini’s “Gianni Schicchi” (Marco), W. A. Mozart “Don Giovanni” (Don Giovanni) P. I. Tchaikovsky’s “Queen of Spades” (Yeletsky), J. Strauss “Gipsy baron” (Homonay and Carnero), F. Lehar “Die Lustige Witwe” (Danilo), G.Puccini “La Boheme” (Marcello and Shaunard), W.A.Mozart “Die Zauberflötte” (Papageno), J.Massenet “Werther” (Albert), R.Leoncavallo “I Pagliacci” (Silvio) and others.
In 1999 Laimonas Pautienius made his debut in Kaunas Musical Theatre. Here he sings the main part of his repertoire in the following operas: G. Donizetti’s “L’Elisir d’amore” (Belcore), G. Verdi “La Traviata” (Baron, Germont), U. Giordano “Andrea Chénier” (Roucher), F. Lehar “Das Land des Lächelns” (Gustavo), J. Strauss’ “Die Fledermaus” (Falk), “Eine Naht in Wenedig” (Hercog), F. Lehar “Der Graf von Luxemburg” (René), Ch. Gounod “Roméo et Juliette” (Mercutio) and others.
In 2000 summer he started singing in Klaip?da Musical Theatre in S. Moniuszko’s opera “Halka” (Janusz) and J. Bock’s “Fiddler on the roof” (Perchik).
In 2004 he started singing in Estonian and Latvian National Operas in G.Verdi “La Traviata” (Germont), P. I. Tchaikovsky’s “Queen of Spades” (Yeletsky), W. A. Mozart “Don Giovanni” (Don Giovanni), A.Rubinstein “Demon” (Demon), C.Saint-Sëans “Samson and Dalila” (Le grand Prêtre), W.A.Mozart “Le nozze di Figaro ( Il Conte Almaviva), J.Ph.Rameau „Les Paladins” (Orcan), G.Bizet “Carmen” (Escamillo), G.Pucini “Madama Butterfly” (Sharpless) ect.
Laimonas Pautienius gave concerts with Symphony Orchestra of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre (maestro V. Viržonis), State Symphony Orchestra (maestro G. Rinkevi?ius) and with the National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra (maestro J. Domarkas), ect. He gave concerts in USA, Germany, France, Sweden (Dalhalla opera festival), Latvia and Estonia as well.
Laimonas Pautienius is the winner of the Republican J. Gruodis singers competition (1996). In 2001 and 2004 he was granted the highest award of the Lithuanian theatre – st. Christopher statue (in “Operetta nomination”) and “Fortune” diploma. In 2002 Laimonas Pautienius was the first price winner in the operetta competition “Operetta – my love”. In 2003 Kaunas department of Lithuanian theatre Union, with “Fortune” statue, awarded him and he was also nominated for the prize of Lithuanian ministry of culture. In May 2003 Laimonas Pautienius won the Grand Prix in the 3th Klaudia Taev International Competition for Young Singers in Pärnu (Estonia). In 2003 he was announced the opera soloist (role of Don Giovanni) of the year in Lithuania.
