Biographie / biography
ATenor Sergej Khomov studied in his hometown of Odessa.
Since 1991 he has made guest appearances at the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theaters, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Teatro la Fenice in Venice, at the Berlin State Opera, the Vienna Volksoper and in Geneva, Lisbon, Lyon, Genoa and Amsterdam. In 2010 he made his highly successful debut at Theater Basel as Radamès in Calixto Bieto's production of Verdi's Aida.
He has been a member of the ensemble at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein since the 1996/97 season.
His repertoire includes Verdi's Alfredo ("La traviata"), Riccardo ("Un ballo in maschera") and Don Carlo, Edgardo (Donizetti "Lucia di Lammermoor"), Hoffmann (Offenbach "Les Contes d'Hoffmann"), Lenski (Tchaikovsky "Eugene Onegin"), Massenets Des Grieux ("Manon") and Werther, Don José (Bizet "Carmen"), Julien (Charpentier "Louise"), Mephistopheles / Agrippa (Prokofiev "The Fiery Angel"), Prince ( Dvorák "Rusalka"), Turiddu (Mascagni "Cavalleria rusticana"), Grimaldi (Schreier "It's a pity that she was a whore") and Hermann (Tchaikovsky "Pique Dame") and Herodes (Strauss "Salome").
In 2021/22, Sergej Khomov will sing Don José again under the baton of M Pedro (de Falla “Meister Pedros Puppenspiel”) and Ein Soldat (Ullmann “Der Kaiser von Atlantis”) at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein.
