Ana Naqe is a highly acclaimed soprano, celebrated for her compelling stage presence, warm timbre, and remarkable ability to bridge classical tradition with contemporary expression.
The Albanian-Belgian soprano sings at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, the Grand Théâtre du Luxembourg, the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, Teatro Solís in Montevideo, the Flemish Opera in Antwerp and Ghent, Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège, and the Bregenzer Festspiele.
Ana performed in the world creation opera Bovary, commissioned by Théâtre de la Monnaie and composed by Harold Noben, on July 4 and 5, 2026 at the Festival Grec in Barcelona.
In January–February 2026, she performed in the world premiere of Maria Magdalena at Teatre Nacional de Catalunya in Barcelona.
In November 2025, she performed Ode an die Freundschaft at Deutsche Oper Berlin.
In June 2025, she appeared at the National Opera of Tirana in Albania.
In April 2025, she performed the title role in the world premiere of Madame Bovary at Théâtre de la Monnaie, composed by Harold Noben, conducted by Debora Waldman, and staged by Michael De Cock and Carme Portacelli. She also performed Bovary in May 2025 at Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers in Paris.
She made her debut as Madama Butterfly (Puccini) at Opera Vlaanderen in Antwerp and Ghent in September 2024, in a production directed by Mariano Pensotti.
During the 2023/2024 season, she appeared as Lady Macbeth (Verdi) and Gutrune in Götterdämmerung at Theater Coburg.
One of the highlights of her career was the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor, directed by Carme Portaceli and conducted by Ouri Bronchti, with the orchestra of Théâtre de la Monnaie. With this production, she toured Belgium, Spain, France, and Amsterdam in 2023.
Between 2018 and 2021, Ana Naqe appeared as Dulcinea/Aldonza in L’Homme de la Mancha (Wasserman, Leigh, Darion), a production of Théâtre de la Monnaie and KVS, later revived at the Théâtre du Châtelet.
In summer 2022, she covered the leading role of Stephana in Giordano’s Siberia at the Bregenzer Festspiele, directed by Vasily Barkhatov.
She performed Medea (Cherubini) and Elettra (Mozart’s Idomeneo) at Opera Kameralna in Warsaw, as part of the “Tribute to Maria Callas” gala during the 32nd Mozart Festival.
She received critical acclaim for her interpretation of Klara Friis, the lead role in the opera We the Drowned, at the Oerol Festival in the Netherlands and the Marstal Festival in Denmark.
At the Landestheater Coburg, she appeared as Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) and Hanna Glawari( The Merry Widow).
