JOLANA FOGAŠOVÁ

Jolana Fogašová studied opera singing for four years at the State Conservatory in Bratislava, followed by studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava under the guidance of Prof. Viktória Stracenská. During her studies, she participated in interpretation masterclasses in Siena, Italy, led by C. Bergonzi. Early in her career, she was awarded a scholarship from the Friends of the Vienna State Opera Club and became a finalist in the Luciano Pavarotti International Voice Competition. In 1992, she began her international artistic career and also debuted as a soloist with the Slovak National Theatre (SND), where she remains an active soloist to this day. She continued refining her vocal technique in Munich with Prof. Josef Loibl.

She has performed operas and concerts alongside world-renowned artists such as José Carreras, Peter Dvorský, Piotr Beczała, Oleg Kulko, Dennis O’Neill, Giovanni Casolla, Angela Denoke, Michele Crider, Gabriela Fontana, Sandrine Piau, Elena Prokina, Desirée Rancatore, Olga Romanko, Thomas Allen, Luca Salsi, Mark Steven Doss, Andreas Scheibner, among others.

In 2009, she earned her doctorate from the Academy of Performing Arts, where she has been teaching voice since 2018. As a vocal coach, she leads masterclasses focused on vocal technique and interpretation. In recent seasons at the Slovak National Theatre, she has performed leading roles such as Tosca, Ľutomíra, Abigaille, Elisabetta di Valois, Lady Macbeth, Santuzza, Amneris, The Foreign Princess, Salome, Katrena, Elsa von Brabant, Lucrezia Contarini, Manon Lescaut, The Duchess, and many others.

Since 2024, she has been serving as the Head of the Opera Studio at the Slovak National Theatre.
